Why I am running

I have spent nearly four decades serving Loudoun County residents from the ground level of local government, at Douglous Community Center.

I have seen what works, what doesn't, and how decisions made in county offices show up in the real lives of working people, families, and small businesses.

I am running because Loudoun has more resources than almost any county in Virginia, but too many residents still feel ignored and priced out.

A county that feels rich on paper should still work for people in real life

I am tired of hearing only how rich Loudoun County is. A family making $90,000 here can still struggle with the cost of living and everyday expenses.

Throughout my four decades living in Loudoun, I have seen families be priced out, while politicians refuse to act.

We need policies that reflect the real cost of living in Loudoun, not just national poverty formulas that do not match life here.

Our Platform

Loudoun County is one of the fastest-changing communities in Virginia. Decisions made by the Board of Supervisors will shape our neighborhoods and quality of life for decades to come.

I believe the county needs leadership that is both principled and practical. That means standing up for residents, not data centers. We need responsible decision makers that protect the long-term future of Leesburg and Loudoun County.

Universal Pre-K

Right now, parents are made to choose between stretching their monthly budget to put kids in pre-school, or risking there kids falling behind. I will work to change that. With universal pre-k, every parent will be able to send there kid without worrying about the hit to their finances. Not only will this help to raise our education standards, but it will also help to lift a burden off of parents

Data Center Accountability

We need to completely rethink the county's data center policy. In recent years, the county has been cutting data center taxes, while politicians are accepting massive political "donations" from the industry. We need to raise taxes on data centers, better enforce noise ordinances, construct sound barriers, increase setbacks, underground power lines, and more.

Get Money Out of Politics

Make Government Work

Politicians should work for you, not for corporations. Jon does not take any corporate or billionaire money. Jon believes this should be the norm, not an exception. I will advocate for small dollar election matching funds and fight back against corporate takeover of our elections.

Having worked for the Lodoun County Government for over 38 years, I have seen what works and what dosen't. We need an inspector general that can identify waste, fraud, and abuse across different departments. We need stronger oversight over how our tax dollars are spent, so the governement can work better for everyone.

What can pennies do?

Use this calculator to see how much each penny increase in the data center computer equipment tax can fund. The current tax is $4.15 per $100 of value. In the Town of Leesburg, they are already paying $5.15 and that has not deterred their desire to come. My proposal is to go to $6.15.

I am relying on a grassroots, citizen-funded campaign.

I will not accept business donations, because residents deserve to know that my vote is not influenced by corporate money, developer money, data center money, or any special interest that does not put everyday people first.
